Chaos can be Beautiful
Growing up in Southern California in the 80's, the "Where's Waldo?" books were quite the popular commodity during the holidays of my youth, perfect for the unsuspecting family member and kids alike, with a keen attention to detail.
We find chaos everywhere. Yet a certain number of us love the chaos in our world in small doses. New York City is a place I make it back to at least a couple times a year - the last time I was there, my wife was running in the NYC Marathon, which meant I had some time to kill while she was resting in preparation for running 26.2 miles.
Sometimes in pursuit of the photograph, there is chaos...and sometimes, just sometimes, subjects are oblivious to the world around them, having grown so use to the beauty that ensues just beyond their grasp.
In this photograph there is just so much going on and yet it's so alive....chaos can be beautiful.
